The words didn’t echo.. they landed hard, sharp and undeniable.
Luciano didn’t raise his voice when he said it, but something in the way he stood in the doorway told me everything I needed to know before the details even followed. His control was still there, precise as ever, but it was stretched thinner now, pulled tight by urgency that refused to be contained.
