I laid in bed wondering what led to Nolan's actions. He seemed all over the place that for a moment I thought he was actually on my side. Why would he stop Kathy from hitting me?

If anything that's just like him, but what caused him to do it?

There were a multitude of possibilities and many reasons, but somehow, I was sure the reason why he pushed her away was because he's scared I'd hurt her as well. After seeing how close she was to slapping me right then I thought to myself, why would he care for someone like me getting hurt?
