Star's POV

After Casey walked into Beta Archer's room, I turned to leave but froze in the hallway. Two guards made their way through the back door. I frowned in disappointment when they began to talk.

The female chuckled at something the man said and I waited for them to walk past but I was once again disappointed when they both stood at opposite ends of the entrance. 

"I don't see why we have to guard the back of the pack house." The female groaned. 

"Tell that to your alpha." The man responded with a scoff. 

I thought about walking past them but I  couldn't risk it, not when Alpha...
