She knew he was referring to his past wife, but she had no idea how much it still hurt him to say that out loud. She wondered if the same could be said of her. But then again, what did it matter now? She'd been reborn into a completely different world.

They were both living a new life. And so what if they'd lost their memories as well? It wouldn't change anything for them. It would just add an extra layer of complexity. A few days with nothing else to do on this planet meant little anyway....
