Chapter 6

Chapter 6

I wake up with the sunlight on my face, peaking through the little opening between the white curtains.

The sun was high and bright, huge pieces of clouds floating in the bright blue sky.

I breathe in the morning scent, lying in my bed. And close my eyes to feel

the silent and peaceful morning.

Suddenly I hear a loud scream right close to my ear. I open my eyes wide to the scream and see that Aliya wasn't on her bed.

I quickly get up from my bed and run outside the room, barefoot.

As I pass by Aysha's room, I thought I saw a girl from last night in the

white gown.

I stop right there and slowly walk back to her room. I look all around the

room but found no one.

Maybe it was my misunderstanding.

I run back to the staircase and hurry down the stairs. I turn right, through

the huge living room and into the kitchen.

I see Aliyah and Ayesha in the kitchen, making breakfast, laughing and joking

around.

I take a deep breath in relief. And try to catch my breath.

"Aliya" I said in a loud whisper.

"Sarah. Good morning.” She said looking up at me. “What happened?" She asked

looking at my face dumped in sweat.

"Nothing. . . . .You're okay?" I asked, still trying to breath normally.

"Yeah, we're okay. You woke up late today, so we thought of making breakfast.” Replied Aliya. “I thought of not disturbing you."

"Yeah, thanks." I say.

I glance at Ayesha. She was sitting on the tall counter chair.

As I look at her, I find her looking at me, giving me a smirk.

She was looking more pale and white than before.

I shrug off the cold feeling. Perhaps I was hallucinating.

I smile back at her.

"Wanna eat something?" Asked Aliya.

"Ummm. Yeah, please.” I replied turning to Aliya. “Fried egg."

"Sure" She replied.

"I'll get changed." I smile at her and leave for my room.

We finished our breakfast. Ayesha and Aliya played around the house. I walk

back to the room.

It was 12:30 in the morning.

I was on my bed, with my laptop turned on.

Ten minutes later I glance back at the clock, it was still 12:30.

I look at my wrist watch it was 12:30. I look at the wall clock, in front

of me. It was 12:30.

I look at the second’s hand of the clock carefully, it was not moving from

its place.

I bring my wrist watch closer to my ear, but couldn’t hear the ticking sound of the clock.

I tap on my wrist watch, but still it didn't work.

I turn off my laptop and walk out of my room.

As I pass by Ayesha's room, I hear Aliya and Ayesha talking and laughing

behind the slightly opened door.

I push open the door and see that they both were having a tea party along with a doll.

Aliya and Ayesha were sitting face to face. They both turned to me as I walked in.

"I baked the cake, and she made the tea.” Said Aliya as I walked in.

“Actually, I made it." She winked at me.

I give her a smile.

I turn to Ayesha, I find her glaring at me through her grey eyes.

"Want some tea?" She said, bringing the teapot forward.

"Yeah, sure." I said holding the cup to her.

As she was pouring the tea in the cup with her little white hands, the smoke

was coming out. It seemed that the tea was too hot.

"Okay.” I said as the cup was about to be full. “Done. Thank you.”

I thought she would stop, but she still continued pouring the tea.

"Hey stop. The cup is full!" I said, but she didn't seem to hear me.

The cup got full and the hot tea started to pour out onto my hand.

I scream and immediately let go of the cup as the hot liquid burned on my

flesh.

It felt like as if the hot boiling liquid soaked into my skin.

As I let go of the cup, the pink tea cup fell on the ground and scattered into pieces.

My face got red due to the killing pain of burnt skin.

I look up at Ayesha, and find her already staring at me with her innocent

face.

"Little b. . b… bitch!!" I murmured under my breath.

"Cmon let's get your hands washed.” Said Aliya taking my hand.

“I'll get the first aid."

As soon as we leave the room, the little innocent eight year old Ayesha cracks an evil smirk to herself.

"You want some tea?" She said, turning to her doll.

"This little bi**" I bite my teeth.

"C’mon Sarah. Seriously?” Said Aliya, wrapping the white cloth around my hand. “She's a little girl. She did it by mistake."

"No! She's not a little girl. Okay!” I sigh. “She's done it on purpose."

"Why would she do it on purpose?" Asked Aliya

"I don't know, what’s going on." I said getting irritated.

"Listen Sarah, You're not having proper sleep these days okay.” Said Aliya.

“You’re probably hallucinating, nothing else.”

“Just peacefully lie down on your bed and have some rest. Okay.” She said

getting done with the band aid. “I'll play with Ayesha till then."

She said and walks out of the room.

I lie on my bed, pull the sheets over me, close my eyes and pass out.

A while later I walk into the kitchen and see Aliya sitting by the kitchen

counter, leaned to her phone in her hands.

I walk up to her and take a seat in front of her, on the other side of the

counter.

"So, how you doin?" Asked Aliya as I take a seat.

"Better" I reply, letting out a sigh.

"What are you doing?" I asked looking at her phone.

"Nothing, playing games.” Replied Aliya.

In a while, Ayesha walks in from behind me.

"May I?" She asked before taking a seat beside me.

"Yeah sure." Said Aliya.

"How are you feeling?" Asked Ayesha in her tiny voice, turning to me.

I just stare at her for a second and look away without saying anything.

"You're afraid of me right?" Said the little child.

I turn back to her with a confused look.

"What? Excuse me!" I replied

"I said you’re afraid of me!” She said.

I'll kill you!!" Her baby voice suddenly changed into a horrible heavy voice

and her eyes turned black.

"What the hell!" I said with a terrified look.

She came closer to me and suddenly bit my right arm with her sharp pointy

teeth.

I growl as a jolt of pain run through my flesh.

I get up straight on my bed, with my eyes wide open and my face dumped in thick beads of sweat.

“It was a dream, only a dream.” I say to myself, trying to catch my breath.

I get up from my bed and walk to the window in my room.

I look down the window and see Aliya and Ayesha playing with the football in

the backyard.

The clouds fully covered the sky, stopping the sunlight from reaching the

ground.

As I walk, the cold wind blow against me

I walk to the wooden bench and take a seat, watching Aliya and Ayesha play.

After a while, I see Ayesha walking towards me and sit beside me.

She placed her cold, tiny pale hand on mine.

"I'm sorry." She said. "I didn't do it on purpose, it was a mistake."

I look into her grey, innocent, bright eyes. This time they were truly

innocent. Maybe Aliya was right, I was really hallucinating.

"It's okay, I’m not mad at you.” I said, passing her an assuring smile.

“I know it wasn't your fault."
