The sudden thunderstorm raged over the city. It brought chaos and flooded the streets. 

Earl sighed, shaking his jacket to get rid of the water. People rushed and pushed through the thick crowd. The weather was a mess of humidity and curses.

“My love, are you with me?” Serena’s sweet voice echoed over the line. 

She sounded worried. Earl cursed under his breath. He should be home with his mate. Instead, he was stuck in a wet city.
