Third Person’s POV.
Marcus lowered his head slightly.
“I understand,” he said. “ I'm sorry sir.”
There was a bit of silence between them.
Then Marcus spoke again, quieter this time.
“I just felt it was necessary. She’s seeing you in a way that… isn’t entirely accurate.” He paused. “Plus, you even accepted her nomination when you could have rejected it.”
The VIP leaned back in his chair, glaring at him for a moment.
“She would have hated me either way.”
He picked up his glass and took a slow sip.
“Besides,” he added calmly, “she’s entitled to whatever opinion she has of me. I have no interest in correcting...
