Alpha Faran found me in the kitchen cooking. There was a surprised look on his face. Although that was not to be mistaken as kindness.

"How did you get here....when did you arrive here.... where in the bloody hell were you?" he asked simultaneously. It was difficult for me to choose which of the questions to attend to first.

"I have been around sir!" I stirred the pot of stew I was cooking.

"Really?" he sneered. "But you were nowhere to be found the last time I checked?"

"I have always been around sir," I replied with a low voice. I must have been lucky he has not...
