Aireen returned to LA in the middle of the April which still in spring season. She was lucky to see the beautiful blossoming trees before the Summer arrive. The mild weather was just perfect for outings, and many people were having picnic with their family at a park nearby the St John Academy.
Although it was already late to register at St John Academy and she might be left behind in some of the syllabuses, but she can catch up all of them since she is one of the genius student like her cousin, Nick Hermann. Furthermore, Principal Trevor glad that one of the Hermann heiress want to enter her school. So, she handled everything by herself when Marcus Hermann told her that he wanted to register her daughter to that school.
The six students were walking from their school to the shopping mall which 2 blocks away from St John Academy. The mall have everything such as the cinema, bowling and various sport venues such as badminton, squash and futsal court. Besides, the mall also offer the affordable prices since it was near the university, and many students were hangout there. Furthermore, the mall have various of restaurant including the famous TBR cafe which Adam always visit it almost everyday; even the owner and his daughter have consider him as their own family.
《Adam Blake》
We decided to split up into two groups, Sam, Sierra and Sai in one group while Nia, Aireen and me with the other group. I was wearing my bowling shoes while the others, besides Sam, were arguing about who will start first. Sam was playing with his smartphone totally apathetic with the silly argument. Nia and Sierra were struggling, keep pushing each other to type their name on our lane's board, in order to determine who will start first. Jake was trying to calm them down since people around us starting to notice the loud female’s argument.
I glanced at Aireen who was sitting opposite to Sam. She seems struggling too, but with her bowling shoes, because of the twisted laces. Damn she's so cute. She's totally different with those two. I smiled when she furrowed.
I was approaching her with my both hands were in my pockets. Feeling a bit shy...maybe....well I don't know. I then slowly kneel down in front of her, made her surprised a bit.
"Here, let me help you," I offered my help with a smile. She blinked once, then again, seems astonished, maybe. Our hands were brushed a little when I was trying to untangle the twisted laces. But, then she quickly removed her hands and put it on her lap.
"T-thank you, Adam," she stuttered a bit and a small pink blush appeared on her cheeks. Her familiar angelic voice reminded me of my dreams; maybe the girl on my dreams could be her. But it's impossible, right? I never met her before. How come I could dream about her.
I properly tied up the shoelaces to make sure she is comfortable. I could felt, she was looking at me but I didn't care though. Well, all women love it when a guy tying up their shoes, right. And also, I bet all girls can't look away from Adam Blake's charm...Because I'm totally dashing and irresistible....hehe.
Okay, back to reality. "Is it tight to you?" I asked while examining her shoes. "Or I can tie it again, if you want."
I scanned her face waiting her for answer. She shook her head and Sai."Um...n-no...it's already comfortable, Adam."
I nodded. “Okay then."I look at her perfect face again and this time, our eyes met. Her lavender eyes...it's unique, so... beautiful. How could people called her that alien thing. She's so gorgeous...
"Hey Adam, are done yet?" I heard a voice calling me.
I shook my head once, waking up from her eyes captivation. "Yeah...I'm done. All done." I said as quickly standing up. I offer my hand to her. "Let's kick their butt, alright Aireen."
She examining my hands for a milliseconds before take it. Her soft skin touches mines that make me feel a certain feeling..., a warm feeling for exact, that I never experience before. I never felt like this when I hold Sierra's hands or she hold mines. It's so different and moreover, I feel so glad when she accepted my offer.
Sierra bowls first since she won the arguing. And 7-pins were out. Not bad for starting. For the second round, she manage to score 2-pins. Next is Nia, well she is an expert and swiftly scored a strike. Good job, Nia. Next, that jerk, Sam, my roommate. He seemed uninterested with the game but manage to score a strike. Okay that's it. Why is he is good at everything. I need to win the game no matter what. Although our points preceded the other group, but with their expertise we might lose. And Sierra will demand me to treat her dinner. She tends to pick the expensive food and I will broke, again.
"Hey Adam, are you scare to lose?" Damn, they saw my nervousness.
I coughed a little and pull up my hoodie's sleeve until it reached my arms. "No I'm not." It's my turn now, I took the bowling ball and ready to knock the pins. Okay this is it, I need to show them that I'm better than Sam. I bowled the ball and it was rolling straight to the 10-pins and knocking them all over. Whoa, I can't believe my eyes that I actually...score a strike.
"Oh yeah," I shouted happily before turning to them. "You're going to lose, dude."
"Tsk, dope,"he said along with his annoying smirk. “Just a single strike doesn't mean that you'll win."
I tongued out to him and saw Aireen was giggling a bit when saw my childish behaviour. With a sudden I feel my cheeks were burning slowly. Am I blushing now??
《Aireen Hermann》
I giggled a bit when I saw Adam's childish side. And his cheeks were blushing as he saw me looking at him. Sai scored 6-pins out of 10. Then a sudden nervous feeling surrounds me, because I'm next. And I even don't know how to bowl. Lame Aireen, lame.
"Aireen, it's your turn," Sierra told me. I took a glance at the pinky girl. I gulped a bit when grabbing the bowling ball. I could feel my knees were trembling right now. What am I suppose to do? I then, turn to Adam and saw him give me thumbs up with his goofy smile. Nia even shouted 'Goodluck' to me while making my way to the lane.
Okay Aireen, do your best for Adam. He is watching you.
I examining the lane first before making a strategy. The weight of the ball is 12 lbs. Keep the shoulders levelled with the ball and channel the momentum of the swing into the speed of the ball. And I will get a strike...maybe.
I positioning my body as follow my strategy before ready to make my move. I swing my hand as the bowler did before they roll the ball but, suddenly the ball was loosen from my grip and went straight to Adam' direction who was standing not far from my back.
He managed to catch the ball while the others were astounded with what happened. And for a moment, everyone eyes were looking straight to me. I gulped once again and trying to cover my face with my palms. It's so embarrassing.
A tall figure guy suddenly stand in front of me holding the ball that I loosed the grip earlier. One of his hand hold the ball while the other one way trying to remove my palms from covering my face.
"It's okay Aireen," he said softly. His bigger hand was holding mine. "Here, I teach you." He gave me back the ball and taught me how to hold it properly. He then told me to turn back to the lane and examine the 10-pins that were about 60-foot long from our positions. I could feel his bare chest brushes my back as he breathe in, making my heart pounding faster than usual.
His hand was supporting the ball, so that the ball wasn't loose from my grip again. He then ask me to bend my knee a bit before making my move and told that my form earlier was already great but my grip wasn't.
"Okay Aireen, goodluck," he whispered to my ear before helping me bowl the ball. The ball went straight to the pins and knocking out all of the 10-pins.
Adam cheered happily as I scored a strike, of course with his help. I still couldn't believe it actually, because it was the first time I bowled in my life.
"Thank you, Adam, “I Said with a smile.
You're so nice. He looks so happy and even tongue out towards Sam.
I turn to Nia who also give me a thumb up while Sierra was just smiling at me.
Sam crossed his arms while shook his head as he looked at Adam who over excited, jumping around like a kid.
After the game ends, the guys left us, girls, in front of the bowling entrance. They said they want to buy ice cream at Baskin Robbins's booth not far from here.
"You like Adam aren't you, Aireen?" Sierra suddenly asked me making my cheeks start to burn. This time they will discover my feeling and I couldn't hide it any longer.
"Um...nooo!"I quickly replied while turning away from them.
Nia seems interested with the 'hot' conversation. "Aireen likes Adam??"
Sierra gave her cynical smile. "Oh come on. You can't hide it from both of us. We're your best friend, remember."
I cover my face with my palms. Oh, it’s so embarrassing. They knew it...
"How come you like him, since you just met him this morning?" Nia totally dumbfounded.
Okay, this is it. I need to tell them. They will know that later if I didn't tell them now. I then remove my palms and facing their faces.
"I-I like him since we're 5 years old," I answered while twiddling my index fingers. "W-we met once at a party but he didn't notice me."
Nia put her arm around my shoulder and Sierra followed her.
"Ohh...our sweet innocent friend has a long time crush, “Nia gently pinched my cheek.
"So that's why you're blushing hard in our room awhile ago." Sierra suddenly clapping her hands once.
"Sierra, p-please stop it. It's embarrassing, you know." I cover my face again.
They were laughing heavily as they saw my reaction. They always love to tease me, didn't they?
"Don't worry, Aireen. We won't tell him, we promise," they said with their arms raised a little, about their chest level.
I just nodded. They then hugging me tightly making me hardly to breathe. "We missed you so much, Aireen." They said in unison.
"I miss you guys too."
Suddenly, Sierra's smartphone was buzzing. She immediately answer it as she saw the caller's name on her screen. "Sam where are you? It's been 10 minutes now....Wait what....Adam wants to eat ramen?....Oh that idiot.....Okay fine, We'll meet you at TBR."
She ended the call and turned to me and Nia. "They wait us at TBR."
"It must be Adam. Always eat ramen, nothing else." Nia groaned while fastening her fist.
I giggled a bit. Okay, his favourite is ramen. Noted.
"Let's go Aireen," Sierra said as she patting softly on my shoulder.
After we had our meal at TBR, we decided to go back to our dorm since it's now 9.30 pm. Adam surely loves ramen because he ate about 5 bowls of it. He also said that ramen at TBR's is the best, and I totally agreed with him as I ate a bowl of delicious miso ramen.
We walked back to our dorm which about 15 minutes away. The weather was a bit cold for me since I didn't bring along my sweater. Sierra and Nia also seem cold but their boyfriends were trying to warm up by holding their hands tightly and sometimes rubbing it with their hands.
It's so sweet for both of them, to have a boyfriend who love them.
Suddenly, a big warm hand take my right hand that make me jump a little. I turn to the my right side and saw him, giving me a warm smile. His ocean blue eyes were glittering under the moonlight that hypnotize me immediately.
"Your hand is so cold." He said looking straight into my eyes. He then take my other hand and rubbing together with his hands to warm it up. I currently at lost my words for a moment with his sudden action. I also trying to control my feeling so I didn't blush in front of him again.
We stop from walking for a while and I saw Sierra and Nia give me thumbs up as they walking passing us.
That's it. I'm defeated with my own feeling now. My cheeks slowly burning and for a few milliseconds later, I'm blushing, again.
