Ezekiel wasn't really expecting Alyssa to come back to the operating room on her own because of they way she had begged and fought to not have the surgery.

When he noticed her change in emotions, he wondered what might have gone wrong with Lily. Did he do something irreversible to her? He wanted to ask what was going on but he held himself back. He didn't want to give her any delusions that he still cared.
