Adriana scrubbed the floor and her stomach grumbled.

 She had been assigned to the horse stable and had been told to pack the horse waste and also scrub the grounds till it was sparkling before she could eat.

 Her hand throbbed from all the scrubbing but she went on.

 She needed to be done with this and rest and her stomach needed to be fed.

 She heard noises coming from outside then footsteps entered the stable and stopped. She looked up and saw two men staring at her in surprise.
