Adriana felt the warmth of the sun on her face through one of the open windows in the quarters.

She slowly opened her eyes and glanced around her. She saw the peeling walls and drooping ceilings and knew that all that had happened the night before had been real.

She had had little hope that this was all a bad dream and that she would wake up already married to her mate, but the reflection of the sunlight coming through the window was enough to convince her that this wasn't a bad dream.
