I stood in the hospital's hallway, leaning against the wall as Andy Pandy and Gavin stood across from me. “So, when did you both decide appearances mean more than your kids?” I asked.

“Don’t start, Mack,” Andrew said.

“We feel bad as it is,” Gavin said.

“You feel bad. Imagine how that kid’s parents feel. Wait. Andrew knows.” I looked at Andrew, who said nothing.

“I don’t think anyone wanted this to happen,” Lakin said as we stood there.

“No. But doing nothing is better than something. That makes sense,” I said.
