Evalina Wilson stood in front of the Jackson Corporation building, glancing at her phone before letting out a deep sigh.

“I’m heading home now, Hunter,” Evalina said softly, turning toward the man who had just stepped out of his office.

Hunter, who had been walking toward her, immediately stopped in his tracks. “Are you sure you don’t want me to come with you? I can drive you home.”

Evalina smiled, though the fatigue was obvious in her eyes. “I need some time alone. Besides, I want to clear my head after everything that’s happened. Trust me, I’ll be fine.”

Hunter gave a slow nod, though uncertainty lingered in his gaze....
