The once-tense atmosphere of the master bedroom shifted into something far more chilling as Olivia Grace stood tall, asserting her right to the room. Her sharp gaze pierced through Jackson and Shopia, leaving no trace of fear in her stance.
Yet, Jackson's reaction caught Shopia completely off guard. He stood frozen, his jaw tightening as if he was holding back an explosion.
"Jackson!" Shopia shrieked, her voice trembling with rage. "Remember, Olivia is pregnant with another man’s child, and now she dares to come back carrying her bastard kid!"
The harsh words echoed through the room, slicing into Olivia like knives. But she only responded with a thin, cold smile, as if untouched. Meanwhile, Jackson’s grip on his emotions began to unravel.
His face flushed with anger, and his eyes glinted dangerously as he glared at Olivia.
"You’re absolutely shameless, Olivia," Jackson growled, his voice low and icy. "How dare you come back to this house, to this room, as if you still belong here?"
Olivia remained calm, unwavering under his furious gaze. "Dare?" she repeated softly but with sharp emphasis. "Maybe I should be the one asking you, Jackson. Since when do you think you have the right to throw me out of my own home?"
Her words only fueled Jackson’s rage further. With rapid strides, he closed the distance between them until they were mere inches apart.
"Get out of here!" he roared, jabbing a finger toward the door. "You and that bastard child have NO place in this house!"
Olivia raised an eyebrow, a flicker of surprise crossing her face at how easily Jackson spat out those vile words without a shred of guilt.
"So this is who you are now?" Olivia said with a soft scoff, a cold smile curling her lips. "A coward hiding behind another woman, too scared to face his own mistakes."
Jackson’s body stiffened, hatred flashing in his eyes. Without thinking, he grabbed Olivia's arm roughly and shoved her hard.
"Get out of here RIGHT NOW!" he barked.
Olivia lost her balance. Her body slammed onto the floor, the thud echoing through the once-grand room. For a moment, silence fell—so heavy it felt as though time itself had stopped.
Shopia smirked triumphantly, her eyes gleaming with satisfaction at the sight of Olivia sprawled on the floor.
But what shocked Jackson wasn’t Olivia’s fall—it was her reaction.
Instead of crying or begging, Olivia slowly pushed herself up, calmly dusting off her clothes. There was no shock on her face; instead, a cold, unreadable smile formed on her lips, sending chills down Jackson’s spine.
"I didn’t expect this..." Olivia murmured, shaking her head as she studied Jackson’s furious face. "You actually had the guts to do it, Jack?"
Jackson gritted his teeth. "What are you talking about?"
"The guts to push me out of the room you once swore would always be mine," Olivia said flatly. "The guts to cast me out as if I never existed in your life."
Her voice was calm, but her words hit Jackson harder than any blow.
"Do you feel like a real man now, Jackson?" Olivia took a slow, deliberate step toward him, her gaze sharp enough to cut. "Throwing out the mother of your own child, tearing apart the family you once vowed to protect."
Jackson's face hardened. "That child is NOT mine!" he barked, his voice shaking with fury—and doubt.
Olivia chuckled softly, a cold, chilling sound that made Shopia unconsciously take a step back.
"Are you so sure?" Olivia tilted her chin up, locking eyes with Jackson. "Or are you just too scared to face the truth?"
Again, silence fell. Jackson stood frozen, his fists clenched tightly at his sides, his gaze wavering under the weight of her words.
Sensing the shift, Shopia snapped, her voice rising with panic. "Stop playing your pathetic games, Olivia! Jackson chose me! You’re nothing but an unwanted relic of the past!"
Olivia turned her head slowly toward Shopia, her gaze sharp but composed.
"Relic of the past?" Olivia repeated, her voice smooth yet dripping with venom. "How unfortunate for you... because the past you despise so much is about to destroy the future you built on betrayal."
Shopia's face paled, but before she could retort, Olivia turned toward the door, her head held high. She paused at the threshold, casting one last look at Jackson.
"Thank you, Jackson," she said softly, her tone laced with a chilling promise. "Today, you gave me the perfect reason to take everything back."
Jackson could only stare at her, his chest pounding, feeling as if the very walls of the house he ruled were beginning to collapse.
Olivia smiled faintly before stepping out.
Yet, before her figure completely disappeared behind the door, her voice floated back into the room—a haunting whisper no one could ignore.
"And when that time comes..." Olivia paused, her words lingering in the air like a curse, "...you'll regret ever pushing me out of this room."
The door clicked shut softly, leaving behind a suffocating silence.
For the first time, Hunter Jackson felt a fear he couldn’t explain—a fear that it was already too late.
