Olivia Grace pushed open the massive double doors of the master bedroom—the room that had once held all her dreams—with unwavering resolve.
Without hesitation, she stepped inside, the sharp clack of her heels striking against the gleaming wooden floor. Her cold, emotionless gaze swept across the room. A faint scent of another woman’s perfume still lingered in the air, stabbing her senses and churning her stomach with disgust.
With a firm motion, she pressed the service bell.
A maid appeared within seconds, confusion etched across her face.
"Clean everything," Olivia commanded, her voice as sharp as a blade. "Change all the sheets. I don’t want a single trace of her left here. As for the clothes—" Olivia pointed at the closet filled with Shopia’s expensive dresses, "—pack them all up. Now."
The maid hesitated, glancing nervously toward the door.
"I said now!" Olivia snapped, her voice cracking like a whip.
The maid jumped into action, hurriedly stripping the sheets from the bed and tossing them onto the floor. Another maid rushed in to help, grabbing Shopia’s lavish dresses and stuffing them into large boxes without mercy.
Just as one of the boxes was about to be sealed, heavy footsteps echoed down the hallway.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" Shopia Joy screamed as she burst into the room, her blonde hair wild around her shoulders.
Her eyes widened in horror at the scene: her belongings strewn about, her dresses being carelessly shoved into boxes like garbage.
"You crazy woman!" Shopia shrieked, lunging toward Olivia. "You can’t do this! This is my room!"
Olivia turned slowly, a cold smile tugging at the corners of her lips. She stepped closer until they were just inches apart.
"Your room?" Olivia said calmly, her voice laced with an unspoken threat. "This room was never yours, Shopia. You were merely… a guest here."
"You think you can just walk in and take over?!" Shopia screeched, her voice rising, her eyes flashing with rage. "Hunter won't let you!"
Olivia’s smile deepened, her gaze cutting like a dagger. "Hunter no longer has a say. I’m back. And you," she pointed at the packed boxes, "are ready to leave."
Shopia’s body trembled with fury, her fists clenched tightly at her sides. She wanted to slap Olivia, to scream, to force her out—but the chilling calmness in Olivia’s voice pinned her to the spot.
Overwhelmed by humiliation and helplessness, Shopia turned and ran down the stairs, her steps pounding against the floor in furious defeat.
Downstairs, Jackson—Hunter Jackson—sat languidly on a leather sofa, swirling a glass of whiskey in his hand, his expression dark.
The moment he saw her, Shopia threw herself into his lap, sobbing against his chest.
"Jackson!" she cried out, her voice hoarse with rage and fear. "You have to do something! She's kicking me out of our room! She’s throwing away all my things! She’s trying to take everything from us!"
Hunter’s jaw tightened, his free hand curling into a fist.
A faint crack sounded as the whiskey glass in his hand began to fracture.
His eyes darkened as he roughly pushed Shopia off his lap and stood up. The air around him grew heavy, laden with deadly tension.
Without a word, he stalked toward the staircase—each step heavy, making the floor vibrate.
Upstairs, Olivia stood by the window, her back to the door. She heard the creaking of the stairs behind her, the approaching footsteps.
When the door slammed open, Jackson’s heavy steps filled the room.
"What the hell do you want, Olivia?!" Hunter roared, his voice reverberating through the spacious room. "How dare you barge into this bedroom?"
Olivia turned slowly, her eyes calm like the eye of a storm ready to erupt.
"Why shouldn't I be in my own room, Jackson?" she replied in a flat tone. "Or... have you forgotten who I really am?"
The words struck Jackson like a hard slap.
He froze, his jaw locking tight, his eyes flashing with anger—and something else... a flicker of doubt.
Shopia, standing at the doorway, saw Jackson’s hesitation. She couldn’t bear it.
"You have no shame, Olivia!" she screeched, her voice shrill. "Jackson doesn’t want you anymore! And yet you crawl back here like a desperate beggar, clinging to what's no longer yours!"
Olivia lifted her chin high, her gaze piercing.
"I have never begged anyone," she hissed. "Least of all a man who broke his vows."
The atmosphere thickened, as if the air itself had frozen.
Olivia stepped forward, brushing past Jackson, and leaned in close, whispering so only he could hear:
"Did you really think I came back to beg for you, Jackson? You couldn’t be more wrong. I came back to destroy everything you built on betrayal."
A small, cold smile—full of promised ruin—curled on Olivia’s lips as she left them both standing speechless in the middle of the room.
