Jade’s POV

When Henry left my side, I paced around from Amara’s to Jake’s ward before leaving to answer my mom’s call at the desk.

My phone battery had died and I was using my mom’s friend phone.

“Hey mom!” I tried being cheerful. I knew she wasn’t home till later that week so she shouldn’t know her son and Amara were in hospital.

I made sure to beg her friend not to tell her. “Yeah, we’re good. Jake is out with friends. How are you?” I bit my lips hard for the lie I told her.
