Chapter 3 Him Again

Chapter 3 Him Again

***

The next day was a Monday, our first day of school in TUOIFA. I always felt excited on the first days of class.

"What should I wear, Kee?" I asked.

"None of your clothes."

My mouth dropped open at her reply and she laughed. Keisha always said my clothes were old school.

"Okay. Hope you'll take me shopping later." I told her.

"Of course." she agreed, standing, "But today, wear these. You gotta look hot when with me."

She gave me leather, skinny jeans and a fitting long sleeved black T-shirt.

"Okay." I took the clothes.

"Good. At least now people would appreciate the curves and contours josh has been trying to hide from the world."

"Don't exaggerate."

"I'm more than honest. Physical appearance counts if you wanna make new friends."

"What?" I laughed, "That's dumb. Physical appearance shouldn't count that much."

"Well, in our society today, it does. People endlessly judge others from their appearance."

Keisha was right and that was why I listened to her most of the time. I sometimes felt like I was too good and too naïve for the world.

-

When we were both done, we got our laptops and headed for our classes.

**

On entering our class, a lot of people turned to me, mostly boys and men.

I immediately became nervous. Some shamelessly smirked and winked at me. I ignored them. Keisha pinched me playfully.

"Are you seeing a change, already?" she whispered. I smiled shyly and nodded. There were a lot of cute guys checking me out and that made me very uncomfortable, in a rather sweet way.

I sat down with Keisha and with the other students. We all waited for our teacher.

-

Thirty minutes passed by and everyone wondered where our teacher was. Soon, the Vice chancellor entered the class, surprised.

"The teacher isn't here?" he asked.

"No, sir." the whole class answered.

"I'm sorry. That means his meeting was today."

The students looked at each other. He went on,

"He has an important meeting and so he won't come. But don't worry, I have better news."

Everyone fidgeted.

"The person I got to teach you today is a professional in the movie industry. He has directed and produced movies like, THE UNDERTAKER, SUMMER DISASTER, etc."

The class got excited.

"Wow. All those were great." I leaned and whispered to Keisha.

"I agree." Keisha replied.

"He'll be helping with the teaching but not always because he's a busy person and– Oh, there he comes!"

The vice looked out the door and we happily waited for the person who'd come through.

"Um, sorry. I'm late. Traffic." the person we'd been waiting for said as he walked in. My eyes widened and I unconsciously gripped Keisha's hand. I recognized the eyes.

"Our part time teacher is–"

"Isn't that the handsome bastard with the beautiful eyes?" Keisha cut in with a laugh, "He has that brow piercing and I recognise those eyes. He's the guy you insulted yesterday. Oh my gosh, I wouldn't want to be in your place."

He greeted the vice as we all stood up to greet him instead.

"Hi, people." he replied and permitted us to sit. The vice then left. He was in black leather as usual.

"Can I make myself comfortable?" he asked the class.

"Yes!" everyone answered.

We silently watched him take off his jacket. Underneath was one tight black T-shirt that printed out his athletic torso. As I expected, he had tattoos on both his arms. Keisha pinched me again.

"Sha?"

"Yeah?"

"He is one hot thing." she giggled.

I kept quiet. He picked up the marker and wrote his name on the whiteboard.

'SHANE LUCAS'

Then he faced the class.

"That's my name. Let's make things clear. We're friends cuz we ain't really different. I'm 25 and so I'm not your teacher. I'm just here to help from time to time."

"Cool!" someone yelled and the whole class laughed. He too.

"That's more like it. If you have questions, you are free to ask. On and about anything."

He was right. The class was made up of people in their twenties. There were newly graduates like me that ranged from twenty to twenty three, experimental people that ranged from twenty four to twenty nine years of age and the bored who already had jobs but wanted to learn stuff again. They ranged as from thirty.

"On anything?" a girl of about twenty too, asked in a rather flirty manner. The class looked at Shane who smirked. He had that intense look in his eyes. The girl blushed.

"Sure."

There was fidgeting amongst the girls. The girl stood up. She had a miniskirt.

"Okay, sir."

"Call me Shane." he cut in and she smiled.

"Okay, Shane. Are–"

"Your name is?" he cut in again with a smile that could give one goosebumps.

"Um, Fiona."

"Alright, Fiona. Go ahead." she went on.

"Are you single?" she dared to ask and I gasped in my corner, in amusement.

The class laughed and whistling could be heard. Shane smiled.

"Well yes, I'm single."

There was more whistling. He went on.

"And if you need more information on that, you can get my number after class." he added playfully. Fiona blushed and the whole class went wild. Even I, laughed . For my first day, he made the class interesting.

~

After a lot of questions from students, we officially began the class. It was great and I made sure he didn't see me at all. I thanked goodness that he was teaching only for that day.

At the end of the class when people had surrounded Shane, I saw it as an opportunity to get away quickly with Keisha.

"Let's go." I urged, taking my laptop. The giggling Keisha reluctantly stood up. We made our way through the crowd and hurriedly headed for the door. But then Keisha stopped me by grabbing my hand.

"What is it? Let's go quickly."

""Sha, I think you should apologize."

I looked at her like she was crazy.

"What?"

"He may be your employer tomorrow. Or he might even help you to realize your dream. Go on and apologize."

I was silent. Keisha was right and I hated that fact . I finally gave in with no choice. We then joined the students surrounding Shane . Most of them were girls, of course.

He was smirking and was friendly with all of them. He had one dangerous bad boy look. He had beautiful eyes and little pink lips. He answered all questions carefully. As he spoke, he looked around and unfortunately his eyes met mine. I gulped. I felt embarrassed and ashamed. He gave me a surprised smile. I looked away.

"Keisha, is this obligatory?" I whispered.

"Yep." she replied, amused. I turned to him again and suddenly he stopped talking to the people in front of him, his attention to me.

"Are you a student?" he asked me openly. I gulped again.

"Um, yeah."

"Were you in today's class?" he asked in a teasing manner and and I knew it was payback time. He wanted to have his little revenge.

"Yes."

"Oh, I see. Do you want to speak to me?" he asked with a knowing smile. My breath hitched.

"Um, yes."

He gave me a satisfied smile. He'd won. If I'd known who he was I would have shut the hell up. I was annoyed. He turned to the students who had been listening to us.

"Please that'll be all for today, guys."

"Thanks for coming." a girl said.

"No. Thank you for letting me teach for the first time."

They all smiled at him before leaving. We were left alone. Only both of us. I didn't even realize when Keisha had left too. The cunning brat. Shane stood up and began packing his stuff.

"Um, sir?"

"Shane" he corrected.

"Shane?"

"Yes?"

"I want to apologize."

He stopped and looked at me, a brow raised.

"Excuse me?"

I felt like melting.

"I want to tell you I'm sorry for speaking rudely to you yesterday."

He wore his jacket and took his keys.

"Honey, just keep that to yourself. It's not sincere." was his cold reply.

"What??"

He walked past me.

"You've discovered who I really am and now you want to gain some favors?"

Why the hell was I apologizing?

"You know what, Shane?" I started.

"What?"

"You're a real jerk within. I thought of doing good but you're too rude for my liking."

There I'd told him some truth. He was silent. But not for long.

"I didn't mean to be rude."

I didn't expect that.

"oh really?" I asked sarcastically.

"Yes. Just that I find it useless to do what you don't want to do."

'Caught.'

"And who said I didn't want to do it?" I was lying. Who was I kidding?

He smirked and before me, left the class. He knew I was lying. This guy was so annoying.

'And handsome...'

I shook my head and eventually left class, too.
