Serena stepped out of the bedroom wrapped in nothing but a soft robe, a towel draped loosely over her shoulders as she dried her damp hair.

The bathroom door clicked shut behind her, releasing a trail of steam into the room. Her skin still glowed faintly from the warmth of the shower, but her thoughts were anything but calm.

She rubbed the towel over her hair absently, moving toward the nightstand. The room was quiet, almost too quiet, the earlier tension lingering in the air.
