Roman didn’t return until midnight. Serena paced back and forth in the living room. He hadn’t been picking up her calls, and she didn’t know if she should start freaking out already.

The doorbell rang, and she rushed to open it, revealing a tired-looking Roman.

“Where have you been?” she asked as he stepped in, shutting the door behind him.
