MELISSA POV

"Mason when would Miles be out of there" I asked curiously.

"He won't be out till two days time... " Mason replied.

"Oh yeah... I think am forgetting something" I snapped trying to recall what happened when I arrived here.

"Did something happen" Mason asked curiously staring at me.

"I saw a young lady at the guest room and she seem to be someone very rude. She dared to call Miles by his name" I recalled.

"Oh that was Zoe, Miles's assistant" He affirmed.

"I don't know why but there's something about that girl I just can't figure out what it is exactly"

"Did she do anything suspicious? We're definitely best friends,I also have the feeling something isn't right about her but Miles just seem to be in support of her being around" Mason protested.

"I'm sure I saw a fur on the bed but why doesn't she have the werewolf aura if she's a wolf" I uttered confused.

"What do you mean by werewolf? Are you trying to say Zoe is a werewolf" He asked curiously.

"I have the feeling but we can't jump to conclusions without evidence" I added.

"Yeah we shouldn't... Zoe was born here,she spent all her life here so I don't think your suspicious are right" Mason disagreed.

"She should pray my suspicions are wrong" I uttered looking away.

She happened to be on my bad side already. People I dislike from day one I dislike them till the last day. I muttered in my head lost in thought.

ZOE POV

It's morning already. I woke up as early as possible so I would get to the office before Miles does and wait for my spell to act up.

I got to the office and met Ariana at her desk putting some makeup on.

"Good morning" I greeted staring at her but she ignored me like I said nothing.

"Why are you early today" She asked rudely.

Where's that coming from? I muttered in my mind.

"Isn't it my duty to come to work early before the boss does" I replied politely and she dropped her lipstick on the table angrily.

"Did I say anything wrong" I asked confused.

"You're just a damn intern so why are you trying to get close to the boss" She scolded.

"Sorry but I don't think am following" I stuttered confused.

"You and I know very well that you don't like the boss... Remember you dropped a threatening gift card the other day" She said with a wicked smile.

"Em.... Ivy am coming.." I uttered and ran away to the elevator.

"There's no one there. You can avoid me all you want"Ariana shouted.

"She sure is the ice lady... Phew! she scared the hell out of me. Why is she holding a grudge? It's not like I threatened her so what's her deal"I mumbled as I ran to the washroom.

9:50AM

Why is the boss not here yet? I wondered staring at the elevator waiting patiently for Miles to show up.

"Copy all this files and submit it at my desk before 10:30am today" Ariana ordered as she placed a pile of files on my desk.

"10:30.." I asked almost in tears.

"10:30 you heard me right,get to it immediately" She instructed and went back to her office.

"How am I supposed to finish all this before 10:30? Ariana screw you" I cursed frustratedly and everyone stared at me.

"Hahaha.... Screw you Ariana Ali. It's trending now online" I lied with a silly smile and everyone's attention went back to what they were doing.

I almost got on the wrong side of the employees. Zoe put it together and get this done with. I muttered in my head and went back to work.

11:00AM

"You really are such a slowpoke. Do you plan on getting on the good side of the boss with this weak spirit of yours. You really have no idea how much of a falacy you're in because of your thoughts" Ariana scoffed as I submitted the copied files.

Who the hell are you calling a slowpoke? I muttered in my mind angrily and I noticed the color of my eyes has changed to sky blue.

Zoe you can't get exposed now... You haven't gotten the trinity yet. I thought and immediately the color of my eyes went back to normal.

"I'm sorry" I muttered out swallowing my pride.

"Leave" She ordered and I went back to my desk.

The elevator went wide open and a malicious smile appeared on my lips.

Finally I will be witnessing something fun.

Mason and the rude lady I saw at Miles place last night came out of the elevator and Miles wasn't with them.

What's going on here? Why's Miles not with them? I muttered in my mind miserably.

"Attention everyone... Everyone should go to the meeting room now" Mason instructed and left with the rude lady.

We all got to the meeting room..

"Everyone meet Melissa M, your new chief director. Let's welcome her with a warm clap" Mason said and everyone clapped.

Who's she to Miles? Why was she given the chief director... Does this mean she will live in Miles's place from now on. She kinda looks very protective,there's no way I would get my way if she's always around Miles. I muttered in my mind frustratedly.

"Looking forward to working with you all" She said with a smile.

There's a lot of things written behind that smile. I thought.

"The boss couldn't announce this himself because he's on a business trip and would be back in two days time. Everyone can now go back to work" Mason instructed.

Business trip but how come that wasn't on Miles's schedule,am his assistant yet I didn't know this. Something doesn't feel right. I thought staring at the rude lady.

MELISSA POV

"This is indeed a huge company Mason" I complimented after the meeting was over but Zoe was the only one left.

"Zoe what's wrong? Feel too good to have met your chief director" Mason asked sarcastically.

"I'm sure that's the least statement she wants to hear right now" I scoffed.

"Mason why didn't the boss come to the office today" Zoe asked boldly.

"Didn't you hear my announcement or you just feel like wasting my precious time" Mason said rudely.

"I'm his assistant and it wasn't written on his schedule that he would be going on a business trip. Where's the business trip taking place" She asked seriously.

"Why are you being all worked up? It's not like you're to babysit him or something" Mason mocked.

"Looks like some intern here doesn't know her place. Someone like you doesn't even deserve to be Miles's assistant so better shut it and get back to work. You spent your whole day yesterday trying to seduce Miles so it's your fault you weren't informed. Let's go Mason" I said rudely and went out with Mason.
