Selene's POV

Killian and I rushed toward Soteria, my breathing was ragged with fear.

“Soteria, quickly,” I gasped, clutching his hand tighter. “We’re going to perform the ritual!”

Soteria spun toward us. “Okay, okay stand here, both of you.” She pointed frantically at a circle etched faintly in the dirt.

Killian and I scrambled into position. My chest heaved as I looked between them. “What next?”

Soteria’s fingers moved, tracing patterns in the air. Sparks came from her palms like liquid light. “I’m making the potion. Both of you have to drink it.”

“What?!” My voice cracked with panic. “You could’ve done that earlier—”

“It would only take a minute!”...
