The guilt in Killian's eyes was impossible to ignore.
“Selene…” He said softly. “Every time I close my eyes, I still see your face when I couldn’t stop. You were so pale, and I thought…” He trailed off, shaking his head.
I squeezed his hand tighter, forcing him to look at me. “But I’m here,” I whispered. “I’m breathing and I’m alive because you gained control on time. Don’t you dare forget that.”
