The rest of the day was spent talking. Cedrick asked a lot about my past, my parent's death, and what my uncle had done to me. In his arms, I felt like a child again, that only needed comfort. And Cedrick gave it to me, without a second thought. I'd never felt so treasured or loved in my entire life...

Later I tried to get some normality back into our lives, by making dinner. I was terrified that it would be awkward and tense, but to my surprise, it was only my nerves. Cedrick didn't change the way he looked at me.
