Chapter 2

Chapter 2

Caroline's POV.

I never thought that the punch just now was actually smashed by Rob, who seemed to resist Alpha Williams, not at all like father and son. Moreover, he actually dared to resist Alpha Williams and said such treacherous words. Although he was the son of Alpha, but disrespect to Alpha was to be kicked out of the wolf pack.

Rob, it seemed that he was not as gentlemanly as I thought.

After the dinner, I went back to my room.

Knock, knock, there was a knock on the door.

When I opened the door, I found that it was the Alpha's man, "Hello, Alpha asked me to convey that please don't do things that don't fit your status in the future." Then he left.

Something don't fit your status? What did I do wrong again? I opened the door to ask him to come back and ask for clarification, but there was no one left. Did it mean that I would not be allowed to attend the family dinner? I had a headache thinking about the meaning of this statement, and then I saw Rob from the corridor ready to go back to the room, and I was immediately attracted by his handsome, and I forgot what had just happened, but in the next second, I felt a stabbing pain in the back of my head and choking.

Rob grabbed me by the neck and pinned me against the wall, "Sorry, despite the color of your hair, your gaze, it's really uncomfortable."

The feeling of suffocation had completely enveloped me, out of the instinctive desire to live let me struggle as hard as I could, in the feeling that I was about to die, I inwardly roared, no, I could not die like this, roared out and unexpectedly found that I could breathe, I breathed heavily, coughing violently.

"Interesting, you shift to the wolf. However, your size doesn't fit in with this wolf pack."

I realized that I was in wolf form, and while breathing heavily, I asked him "Why are you trying to kill me?"

Rob smiled gently and didn't say anything. I couldn't help but feel frightened by his seemingly gentlemanly appearance and yet such terrible behavior.

The next moment, he suddenly appeared in front of me, my eyes widened and tried to escape, but I was too scared and shaking to move. I could only close my eyes and wait helplessly for death to come. Fortunately, there was nothing in this world to be concerned about.

Quiet even longer, so long that I thought I died without pain.

"For the sake of the fact that you were picked up by Pearl, spare you once."

His voice echoed down the hallway, and when I opened my eyes, the man was gone.

If it was in human form, I guess I would have broken out in a cold sweat. I just took a look at him and almost took my life, this man, more terrifying than the Alpha, I must stay away from him.

Next a problem in front of me, this time after turning into a wolf, I did not know what happened, could not change back to human form.

"Howl~!"

A wolf howl came from the forest, did Aisha transform? When I heard this howl, there was an abnormal excitement in my body, and I directly smashed the window of the second floor and leapt down, running towards the forest, this feeling of freedom made me become more excited.

I ran through the forest and saw a procession not far ahead of me, a tall man in patrol armor standing in front of the procession, holding a knight's sword in his hand, the most eye-catching thing was that he had short silver hair like me, emitting a slight glow under the moonlight, and I felt about to be intoxicated by the warm glow.

I ran past him and couldn't help but look back one more time.

Oh my God, I actually locked eyes with him, a glance that I would never forget.

"Howl~!"

Another wolf howled, and I couldn't help but turn around and pick up speed to continue my mad dash toward Aisha. The sound of the wind echoed in my ears, and Aisha must be in excruciating pain right now as she transformed her form for the first time. When I was eighteen, Pearl was the only one who took me deep into the forest on full moon nights. Although the process was very painful, but watching her heart shed tears, it did not seem to hurt so much. She had such magic, if Aisha had her with her, she would have felt much better as I did.

The prisoner was a wolf with smooth black fur and red eyes. She was rolling on the ground in pain, and several trees around her could not withstand her rolling and fell down, and she rolled out of a flat area.

"Aisha?" I asked, feeling a bit uncomfortable with her current state.

I was answered by another of her incessant tumbling and a howl of pain.

"It's Caroline, are you okay?" I looked at her with some distress, not knowing for a moment what to do to help ease her pain.

"Ca...... Caroline?" she called out my name with difficulty from her throat, it must have taken a lot of effort to do this.

"Aisha, listen, Pearl once told me to try to remember the good things, it helps you feel less pain!" I said out loud, hoping she could hear me.

Gradually, the whimpering subsided a bit, she must have remembered Pearl. When the pups were transformed, they were usually accompanied by their parents, the boys by their fathers and the girls by their mothers. Those without parents could only bear it by themselves. Suddenly, Aisha's body began to tremble violently.

"Howl~"

With a wolf's howl, Aisha fell to the flat ground she had struggled out of. I probably fainted from the pain. I arched my head under her body and put her on my back. After making sure she wouldn't fall off, I dashed towards home. I kept telling myself that I would get there after a while, but when I saw the home in the distance, I lost all my strength and fell to the ground, and Aisha also fell down.

When I opened my eyes again, I found that I was already lying in bed. The familiar blue ceiling above my head and the blanket with my smell on my body were incredibly reassuring, like the carefree mornings of my childhood. I picked up my phone and saw the time and realized that I had slept for two days, and today was Aisha's coming of age ceremony. I immediately bounced out of bed and went to look for Aisha after cleaning up haphazardly.

Unfortunately, I ran into that awful Rob again in the hallway. I tried not to look at him and walked past him carefully as if nothing was wrong, but he seemed to be in a good mood, with a smile on his face, and didn't bother me. I breathed a long sigh of relief and ran in stride to Aisha's room.

"Oh, my God, Caroline, you finally woke up. If you don't wake up, today's quinceanera is going to turn into your funeral." Aisha said as she kept fiddling with the makeup on the table, her face covered in delicate makeup.

"Well, that's not too bad, you won't be able to wear your nice black dress at the funeral now." I said defiantly.

"Not in this outfit, go change." Aisha said as she sat back down at her dressing table and looked me up and down.

"You're the main attraction today, Aisha, and besides, don't I always look like this?" I was puzzled, she never used to care what I wore.

"Just a minute before you arrived, Father's Beta told me that a nobleman from the north was visiting today, and that my quinceanera had been changed to a welcome ceremony." She gave me another disgusted look, "I wouldn't want you to embarrass father."

"Northern nobles? Why are they coming?"

"They'll be here this afternoon, so hurry up if you don't want to be thrown over the border by father again." She fanned the spray of perfume with her hand and smiled at the mirror with satisfaction.

In the mirror, she wore a red bustier fishtail dress cut to fit her body, showing off her figure. Her blonde hair coiled into a ball standing steadily behind her head, two with ruby earrings swaying with her movements, dazzling the eyes. A three-row pearl necklace set off her snow-white skin more white and bright, she stepped on black one-line strappy high heels, which I had looked at for a long time without making up my mind to buy that one. The hand with black velvet gloves picked up a red bag and walked out the door, like a delicate rose in full bloom.

Just a few steps out, she turned back to me and said, "Oh, by the way, remember to hide that silver hair of yours."

I didn't have time to think about the peculiar thoughts of the northern aristocrats, and I was used to Aisha's mockery of my alien-looking hair, so I looked at myself in front of the mirror. If Pearl were here, she would have told me to get dressed up again.

After all, I couldn't lose the face of Alpha.

After returning to my room and simply cleaning up, I sat down in front of the mirror, took out my makeup bag, which I hadn't opened since Pearl's death, and started putting on my makeup. I had always thought that as long as I didn't touch it, I wouldn't remember the sadness, but everywhere in my life, there were traces of her presence, and I was always lost in thought, constantly remembering that image. Pearl was the only person in the world who was good to me, she must be doing well in heaven. I remembered that Rob had said before he let me go that he would spare my life because of Pearl. But I never saw him stay with Pearl, he never even saw the last of her, it was a bit pathetic.

If next time, he wanted to kill me, would I really be so lucky?

I shook my head, stopped thinking about that, hurriedly put on a light make-up, changed into a short blue dress with one neckline, sprayed my hair with disposable spray to golden brown, draped it aside, took out the white pearl heels Pearl gave me when I was an adult and rubbed them lovingly, the first time I wore it. Grabbed my cell phone and white envelope bag and hurried to the ballroom.

As I was just getting settled by Aisha's side, the honor guard came up to the door and I looked at the procession, the man who was gradually approaching us, his silver hair made me feel a little familiar, as if I had seen him somewhere before.
