The room was quiet except for the soft sound of music drifting from outside. I stood by the window, watching as lanterns were hung one by one across the courtyard. Wolves and Lycans moved quickly, arranging chairs, flowers, and candles. Everything looked beautiful. Everything looked perfect.

Still, my chest ached.

Nora sat on the bed behind me, humming softly as she fixed the lace on her sleeve. She glanced up when she noticed me staring too long. “You’re nervous,” she said.

I turned my head slightly, giving her a small smile. “No… not nervous.” My voice softened. “I’m happy.”
