Ethel’s P.O.V.

I woke up to a burning hot heat coming to my body. I rubbed my eyes and squinted. I tried to get up on the bed but my body was tangled with someone else. I turned over and saw Brian’s sleeping face in front of me. We were so closed that I could even feel his soft breath on my neck. It was so itching that it gave me goosebumps. I tried to get rid of his embrace to cool myself down but his arms gripped me more tightly. The wounds on my back were touched and I couldn’t help but moan.

My small moan didn’t wake him up, but his arms loosened. I stared at his face. He looked just like a harmless baby when he fell asleep. The conversation happening between me and his memories started to flood into my head. My heart flinched and looked at him with a distressed gaze.

All of a sudden, my breath become rapid. My body was on fire and my skin was burning hot and itching. It felt like there were thousands of ants creeping on my skin. My heart was beating crazily in my chest. My heartbeat was so loud that I could not hear anything else. I couldn’t help but groan with pain. My whole body was soaked with sweat. The sweat-stained clothing uncomfortably clung to his body.

“Ethel，are you all right?”Brian was woken up by the sound I made. He looked at me with panic showed in his eyes.

I opened my mouth and was attempted to answer him. But a violent streak of pain stabbed through my chest like a sharp arrow before I could say a word.

He placed his hand on my forehead but he drew his hand back immediately as if he was burned by fire. He lifted his shirt in a flurry, trying to wipe off my sweat. But as soon as he did it, I sweated again. His shirt was soon drenched by my sweat.

He jumped off the bed and quickly put his coat on. I heard him rushing down the stairs before he yelled at someone downstairs. But I could not clearly hear what they were talking about. All I sensed was the burning hot going through my body. I was eager to want this fire to lessen.

I nearly lost my consciousness due to the extremely hot and painful feeling going through my body. I brought my mind back by the slamming of the door. Brian rushed into the bedroom with tons of doctors and nurses following him.

“What’s wrong with her?!”I heard Brian ask one of the doctors.

“She is going through heat.” The doctor quickly diagnosed.

Every female werewolf would go through her heat when she reached the age of 18. Then she would suffer from excruciating pain coming along with the heat. The most effective way to stop this torturing pain was to do something intimate with her mate. Any intimate behaviors would be helpful, no matter they were mating, having a make-out session, and anything like that.

One of the nurses walked towards me with a tray and a weird-looking machine and said to Brian. "Sir, we're gonna draw some blood and do an ultrasound to see if anything abnormal has appeared to her."

Brian nodded with his hand waving to the nurse.

With Brian’s permission, the nurse picked up a needle and attempted to stick it into my skin. I closed my eyes. I hated needles. When I was little, I watched a scary movie where the bad guy gave his victims a shot of something that made them slowly go insane. Ever since then needles had been a no-go for me.

Thank god, I was already overwhelmed by the heat so I didn't pay much attention until they get the amount of blood needed for whatever tests they were gonna run.

A few minutes later, the nurse picked up another needle and injected something into my body.

“Alpha, we have injected serum to improve her healing ability. Her wolf is too weak to heal herself.“ The doctor said.

"Help me." I grabbed Brian’s hand with my feeble one and begged him. "Make it stop! Please make it stop!"

He held me back before he yelled at the doctors and nurses “I don’t care what you do! Just stop the heat!!”

"Get ice packs, and start an ice bath!" one of the doctors ordered.

My body shuddered when someone put an ice pack on my forehead. The freezing ice relieved the heat for a few seconds but it was soon melted because of the high temperature of my body. The ice-cold water scrolled down and dampened my hair.

“It’s of no use. She needs her mate. Where is him?”One of the doctors asked.

My sight was blurred with sweat. All the sounds in the room began to merge. I started to get panic because I knew my mate would not be here. I tried my best to inhale air as much as I could. But I started to lose sense of my body as if someone gripping me by the throat.

"Please, Ethel! Look at me! Don’t sleep! " My hands were held by someone. I heard Brian say to my ears. Fortunately, he was close enough to me so that I was able to tell his voice from the chaotic noises. He stroked my face with his trembling fingers. "Look at me, Ethel. Breathe."

Magically, his voice calmed me down a little bit. I opened my eyes and grasped his hand with all my efforts. "Help me." I pleaded with him. "Stop the heat! Please!"

“But I have not claimed you as my mate...”He said with hesitation. I saw a flicker of irresolution in his countenance.

"She is in danger now. There’s not enough time to wait for her mate. You would be helpful as you are one of the strongest Alpha werewolves in our pack. Whatever you're doing, it's working!" one of the doctors said to him.

My entire body was soaked with sweat and my clothing stuck to my body. I felt losing feeling in my limbs. But soon I was surrounded by a fragrant smell. I vaguely saw Brian leaning down to me. His scent was a hell of a lot stronger, causing me to feel both anxious and happy at the same time.

I felt a cold touch on my lips. I realized that Brian smashed his lips against mine.

When I felt soft lips descend and gently press on mine, my heart fluttered and my face turned hot. He was gently moving his lips as if he was touching something very fragile.

After what felt like a couple of seconds, he stopped his movements. My heart that was already beating so fast seemed to have skipped a few beats.

And when the man kissed me again, it was unrestrained and demanding. With his lips, he made me open my mouth before he caressed his tongue with mine. I could not stop my body from trembling from the novel sensation.

Then, all of the sudden, it was as if something snapped inside of him and his insistent hands started roaming around my body. It started with a simple touch on my arms. He ran his fingertips from my shoulders to the tips of my fingers before taking my hand on his mouth and giving it a lingering kiss. Then, without any warning, he enveloped my ring finger with his lips and gently sucked on it. Goosebumps immediately appeared all over my body. And I could not help but let out a moan when I felt him nibble on my finger.

Excitement took the place of pain, and under his kiss, I seemed to feel better.
