The window of our bedroom shattered and the glass splattered all over the floor. Not bothering to see who the attacked was, I quickly rolled Marcus with me under the bed. He went to speak but I placed a finger against his lips, hushing him.

I listened carefully, there were no movements. I turned us invisible, my arms still tightly wrapped against Marcus’s waist as my heart drummed crazily in my chest.
