Marcus's POV:

I had been quiet the whole time, listening to Lima ramble off about Draculas and vampires and covens and whatnots. I had not said much, but his next words made me lift my eyes from the paper to look at him.

“What are you insinuating?”

Lima gave me a smug look, his eyebrows slightly raised. “I said; the stronger the successor, the more powerful the predecessor.”

The wheels began to spin in my head and my eyes widened in realization. “So that means...”

“Yep!” He reply, his shoulders slumped as he heaved a tired sigh. “It is exactly what you are thinking. He wants...
