Katherine folded another dress and placed it neatly into her bag. She had gone over this decision a thousand times in her head, cause she was at a losing end but what had she to gain if she stayed back?

On the bed, the girls sat cross-legged, their big eyes silently watching her. They didn’t say a word, but their eyes were filled with a sadness they couldn’t hide. She wanted to tell them it wasn’t forever, that she would come back for them, but promises like that felt too expensive.
