Katherine stirred in her sleep. Her throat was parched almost as though she was stuck on a dessert for two months. Her eyes fluttered open, adjusting to the dimness of the room.
She felt baby elodie pressed against her and it reminded her of where she had slept.
Madelaine and Adelaide lay sprawled in tangled blankets, deep in sleep and they let out gentle snores. Katherine glanced at the clock to her side. It was late, way past midnight. She always seemed to fall asleep in the kids room lately.
