"There's a suspicious man hovering around the pack house."

The words had been said a few minutes ago, but it was just sinking in my head right now. I heard the words again, about three more times. Just like it was being repeated... then, the voice disappeared faintly.

"Have any of you seen him with any member of this pack?" I asked the maids who came for report.

The three maids had walked into me, on my way from the garden, and had decided to report the suspicious man to me.

"We haven't seen him with anyone yet," one of the maids replied, her voice barely above a whisper....
