I suddenly opened my eyes and adjusted my position on the bed, I tilted my head to look at Herons, who was deeply asleep. Guilt suddenly overwhelmed me as I remembered everything Herons went through just for me. I remembered how he had to fight those two men off to protect me.

I realized I have always been a danger staying next to him, and it’s better if I stay away, maybe this pack is his home and I shouldn’t disrupt that. I stood up from the bed and moved to Herons' side.
