KIRA'S POV

Time seemed to slow down. My senses sharpened. The tip of the arrow glistened in the sun as it shot towards me, and I caught the scent of wolfsbane. 

It was poisoned, in addition to it being silver. 

I acted unconsciously, my energy reserves suddenly filling, and power swelling within me. 

I conjured up an energy shield a split second before the arrow would have pierced my heart. The arrow bounced off the glowing forcefield, and shattered. 

"Kira!" Dad shouted in panic. 

All the council members were out of the hall, staring in shock at the person who had shot the arrow. She was standing a short distance...
