"You filthy animal! How dare you!" 

Ravenna's voice was guttural and deep. No longer eerily playful. She was furious. 

In the distance, thunder rumbled, and the clouds around the castle grew heavy. 

Whatever she was, she wasn't completely human. Forcing her from Mira's body had only enraged her. 

I stood, facing her. Dante and Asher did the same, coming up behind me. Mira still lay on the ground, her eyes closed and her breathing shallow. 

"I told you to leave Mira alone," I said in a calm but deadly voice. "You didn't listen. I did what I had to."
