The next council hearing was the next morning. 

As expected, Odessa tried to keep it from me, but I found out anyway. Stubborn woman. Even after I told her I wouldn't just sit back and let her be prosecuted for trying to keep our children safe, she still wouldn't let me. 

I paid off a few of her servants to keep me updated, and while I'd normally be horrified that it was so easy to buy off people who were supposed to be loyal to her, it worked in my favour this time, so I was willing to let it slide. For now.
