"What did you say happened again?"

I remained on my knees and kept my head bowed even though his powerful steps approached. I felt his breath against my head, which told me he was bent to my height. I felt his finger under my chin and he tilted my head up with it. My eyes met his deadly gaze and I was tempted to let my head back down.

"I...I found her,"

"But...?" He drawled, raising his brow.

"She...I couldn't get to her. She was with someone. A man. I suspect he was the same man that took her away."

"How...
