"Grandpa! Is this the filthy bitch you brought back?", a young lady who was extravagantly dressed yelled as she stood before old Brown while glaring at Angela.
Although, she didn't have a standard educational background, Angela was aware that the word 'bitch' wasn't a friendly word. She got to know the meaning of this word the day she was watching two ladies fight. They were both using insulting words on each other until one of the ladies yelled bitch at the opponent. The other woman immediately exploded and beat her to a pulp. Hearing someone call her bitch made her sad.
"Chloe! Watch your mouth! Is this how your parent brought you up?", Old Brown asked as he glared at the surprised Chloe. The spoilt princess had never been yelled at and that too by her grandfather. Hearing her grandfather yell at her made her frustrated, angry and sad.
"Grandfather! Are you scolding me because of this... this..."
Chloe immediately stopped talking as soon as she heard the warning tone in her Grandfather's words.
"Say another word about her again and you'll see what I'm made of", Old Brown said and Chloe stopped her feet then walked away but not before throwing daggers at Angela.
"Do not mind her. She's just childish", old Brown said trying to console Angela.
Angela absentmindedly nodded her head but didn't say a word.
Josh watched all this while squatting and now that there was no problem with Old Brown, he rose to his feet and walked out of the living room ignoring the loud protests of old Brown.
Now that everyone had left for their work places, the only ones that were left in the huge mansion was Angela and Old Brown.
Angela was sitting stiffly on the chair and the moment Old Brown stood up, saying he was going to take a nap in his room, she felt relieved. She wasn't relieved because she could do as she pleased but because the air was no longer suffocating as before.
After few minutes, Angela realised there was nothing that could keep her busy so she also went to her room.
When she got there, she was shocked when she didn't see any of the clothes that were hung in the wardrobe last night. Then, the thought of her going into the wrong room flashed in her mind. She concluded that was the case but why does this room still looked so much like the one she used last night?
Angela was about leaving the room when she heard a knock on the door before it was immediately pushed open.
A maid walked in and bowed curtly while Angela stood there looking awkward. She was once treated like a slave and now she couldn't believe that people were bowing down to her.
'Oh, how time flies'... she sighed.
"Miss, Old Master instructed us to make it known to you that this is no longer your room...". Angela heard this and her brain started imagining different scenarios of where she'd be sent out of the house. Just when she thought her life was going well!
Tears had formed in her eyes and we're about spilling when she heard the maid talk again;
" He said now that you're married, you ought to stay in the same room as your husband. Your clothes have been moved to his room and this is no longer your room", the maid said while taking note of every slight change in Angela's expression.
Angela stood there in shock as her brain tried processing what the maid had just announced. Her feet appeared to have a mind if its own and stood still despite her fragile protest.
"Now miss, allow me to show you to your room". As soon as the maid said this, she walked out of the room slowly. Angela didn't snap out of her thoughts until she heard the door close with a loud bang. Thinking that the maid had made a mistake, Angela dismissed any idea of the maid been rude to her.
She quietly walked out of the room and followed behind the maid who appeared to have increased her steps in walking.
Angela thought she had seen it all in this building until she stepped into an elevator that was literally shining. She'd have thought it was made of silver.
Unknown to Angela, the elevator was indeed made of silver.
The elevator dinged and stopped moving, Angela as well as the maid both stepped out of it. Angela was left in awe as she took in every detail of this part of the building. She didn't realize she was walking untill she bumped into the back of the maid who had stopped walking and was now standing before a room.
"Now.. I'll leave you to explore this room as much as you wish to", the maid bowed curtly and immediately ran into the elevator. Angela was about to stop her but the elevator had closed already. Angela sighed deeply before gently turning the knob of the door. What greeted her as soon as she opened the door was a dark room. On instinct, Angela wanted to run but after thinking about what the maid said, she knew that this wasn't a trap. Why would she even think that this was a trap in the first place? Angela slapped her forehead at her stupid thought.
She aimlessly walked around the room trying to find the switch of the light but instead was colliding with different things, what she later made out to be the edge of the bed, a small drawer beside the bed, the headstand and the wall itself.
As she was wandering around, the door was pushed open and Angela momentarily stopped walking. She wanted to ask 'who is that?' but chose not to thinking it was Josh or the maid. She began doubting her thoughts when she heard no sound again.
