At the airport, I spotted my mother waving through tears.

“Mom, Uncle,” I greeted, squatting down to the little boy beside her. “You must be Cooper! I brought you a gift.”

“Thank you, sister,” he replied shyly.

“Be good! You’re welcome,” I said, patting his head.

My mother couldn’t hold back her tears. “My child, my child, you’ve suffered!”

“Mom, it’s okay. We’re together now. Let’s make a good life.”

“Right… yes,” she nodded, wiping her tears.

“Let’s go home!” I smiled, feeling hopeful for our new beginning.

Henry Jones’s expression darkened as he read the message.
