Sophia rushed to the rooftop and let out all her tears

"Life is so cruel and my brain is not helping" she said bitterly, leaning on the rails

Jenny got to class and met the whole class rowdy but can't find Sophia

"Looking for your dullard friend?" Monica asked and Cunthia started laughing together with the other students

Lucky just kept sitting, pretending not to be aware of anything

"What do you mean by my dullard friend?" Jenny asked

"Who else but dumb Sophia?, Imagine... She got zero in the math assignment" Cynthia replied

Jenny's eyes widened

She rushed out to look for her everywhere in school but can't find her

"Oh fuck, where is she" she wondered worriedly

She passed by the stairs to the rooftop and heard sobbing sounds

She climbed up and met her there, standing by the rails and crying , her back visible

She's just full of pity for her

She moved closer and touched her on the shoulder

She cringed in fear as she faced her with her teary face

"Jenny...

" Are you stupid?, Why will you be crying....

"You can't understand how I feel, Jenny you're brilliant and pretty, you're cool too, a girl any girl would want to make friends with, but me I'm dull, a dummy, a dullard and....

"Stop it, you're not a dullard, no one is born a dullard, you just need someone who you can lean on, and the right person is me" Jenny said

"To be sincere I'm not good at tutoring, I have no idea about how to explain things but trust that I'll try my best" Jenny said

She wiped her tears

" Just trust yourself and don't be scared ok?"

Sophia nodded and she held her hand

They went downstairs to class together

"And here comes the dullard again" Monica said Immediately they stepped into the class

"Just like beauty and the beast" Cynthia added and the whole class laughed mockingly

"If anyone talks or laugh again, I promise the person a slap, just one slap" Jenny said seriously

They all calmed down

She took Sophia to her seat and sat beside her

"Oh, and here are the books, yours and Daniel's" Sophia said , bringing out the two

Jenny took her book and put it in her backpack without checking

"You won't check your.. score?" Sophia asked

"What's the use?, I'll get either 96 or 97, I don't get more or less than that" she replied, smiling

" Then Dan...

"Dan never gets less than hundred and Lucky never gets less than 98 or 99" Natasha interrupted

" I'm talking about his book, you didn't take it from me" Sophia said

" Oh, it's enough that I submitted his book for him, hold it and please help me give it to him tomorrow when he comes to school, if I should take it home, I won't remember to give him cos we do nothing at home but fight" Jenny said

Sophia smiled

" Yours must be a great family, and Daniel must be one crazy brother who'll always make your home lively, I guess you'll miss him most when he travels" Sophia said

Closing time

"So meet me at the central library not far from the school in the evening, we got a lot of tutoring to do" Jenny said

"ok, and thanks for offering to help" Sophia replied

" What are friends for?, Come here" Jenny replied and pulled her into a hug

" Wait, let's go out together" Sophia said , fearing that Cynthia and Monica might do anything to her

She went out with Jenny and when they got to the parking lot...

"I'll give you a ride, I'll tell my driver to drop you off wherever you're going, get in" Jenny said

" No, I don't think that'll be necessary, my home is not very far from this place and besides, I like to walk to exercise my body, don't worry I'll be ok" she replied

" If you insist, ok see ya in the evening" Jenny replied and got in the car

She drove off

Not like her dad can't afford to buy her a car but he intensionally refused to buy her one, he says he can't buy a car for a dullard

"Life is not treating me well" she thought and forgot she's at the parking lot

A car almost hit her but thankfully she's able to avoid it though not without falling down

She looked up and it's Lucky

"Sorry dummy" Lucky said from his car and drove off

"Jerk" she muttered before standing up

She sighted Cynthia and Monica coming and she quickly left the place, walking as fast as she can....

Monica actually took a photo of Sophia's book and posted in on the class group with the hashtag. ..

"Kings high School new dullard, take a look at the unbelievable formula, how dumb! "

" But honestly the formula is lame, how could she think of something meaningless like this" Dan thought when he saw the post

Then another picture popped up, a picture of how she's leaving the class with tears

"Monica and Cynthia, those two pests" Dan said and zoomed on Sophia's crying face

" She looks pitiful though, I don't know when it became a crime to be a dummy, it's a free world anyways" he thought, still staring at her face on the phone

"She's pretty though" he thought and quickly put his phone on the bed

He sighed and his mind drifted back to how he pecked her yesterday again, it's the fiftieth time he'll be thinking of that today

"Fuck!" He thought and his door opened

Jenny came in

"Hey sister, how was school?" He asked

"Peaceful without you, at least the Principal didn't come to the class today, asking that usual question, "where's Daniel O'Brien!" Jenny replied, mimicking the principal's voice

Dan smiled mischievously

"But I'm gonna be in school tomorrow, mark that" he replied

" Whatever, I don't even know what I'm doing here" Jenny replied and made to go out

" Come back here, where's my note?, Did Mrs Gabriel not give you? " He asked

Jenny looked back at him

" Oh, that, ask your seatmate tomorrow, I kept it with her" she replied

" Seatmate?, Sophia? " He asked

"Do you have any other seatmate?" Jenny asked

"why can't you just bring it yourself"

" I dunno, maybe because I don't want to" Jenny replied, rolled eyes at him before leaving

" That brat! " Dan muttered to himself

Evening, dinner

The family is sitting round the dinning table, having their dinner , an Italian dish

"Why do you like defending your so called friend?" Lucky suddenly asked Jenny

"Cos she's my friend, it doesn't matter if she's brilliant or not" Jenny fired back

" There's a dullard in your class?" Mr O'Brien asked surprisingly

"Yes, a very dumb one" Lucky replied, giggling

"so you're part of those who mock for fun, how blind" Dan remarked sourly

" And I wasn't talking to you" Lucky replied, shooting him a deadly glare

Dan returned the glare and they kept glaring at each other for minutes till Jessica hit her spoon on her plate, making a loud noise, they stopped

"Oh God, I thought dinner is the only peaceful period in this family not knowing it's not the best of my thoughts" Jessica said

"I lost my appetite, I'm going to visit Kim" Dan said, standing up

"say hi to him for me" Jenny said

"He doesn't listen to hi from brats" Dan replied, going out already

" Fuck you" Jenny spat, standing up too

"I'm going out too, I'll be back late" she said

"Where are you...

She's already out before Jessica could finish her statement

" I'm going out too, I need to stroll" Lucky said and left the house

O'Brien and Jessica faced each other

"Peace and freedom!" They both chorused and stuck hands...

Sophia is waiting already when Jenny got to the central library

"I'm sorry I'm late" she said, taking her sit beside her

"It's fine" Sophia replied simply, smiling

"So what would you like us to start with?" Jenny asked

"anything, English or chemistry, maybe physics" she replied

" Ok, let's start with physics" Jenny said and got a physics textbook from the rack

She started the lecture

"To start with, you must know the definition of some terms like distance, vector , time and so on"

" I'll try" Sophia replied

" Ok, let's start" Jenny replied and gave her the textbook

She started reading, trying to memorize even the shortest definition but it's impossible as usual

"Let's do chemistry first then" Sophia said

"Ok"

Jenny brought a chemistry textbook and as usual Sophia can't memorize anything

"Then should we do maths first?" Jenny said

Sophia's tears fell

She stood

"I don't even understand the simplest definition in chemistry and physics, tell me how I'll understand maths calculation... Don't waste your time on me Jenny, Goodbye I'll see you in school tomorrow" she said and ran out of the library before Jenny could stop her

Jenny sighed heavily

Sophia cried throughout her walk home and she never bothered to wipe her tears, it's better to let it all out

"Ok, goodbye Kim, I promise to come see you on Thursday when I won't be going to school again" Dan said and patted the horse on the head

Kim is an horse gifted to him by his grandma before her death, a painful death

He touched his bracelet, another gift from his grandma, he smiled but when he remembered how gruesome her death was, sadness replaced it

"How are you doing up there grandma?" He said, facing the stars

He inhaled heavily

" Sam, you must take good care of Kim as usual, ok?" He told the caregiver beside him

" Yes young master" Sam replied respectfully

He patted the horse once again and left

He didn't bring a car since it's not far from his house

He walked down the street when a message beeped on his phone

He took out his phone and it turned out to be a message on the America school group about how Claudia beat up a girl just because the girl spilled juice on her by mistake, she beat her till she's bleeding

"What the fuck is making Claudia behave like this, I hate it" he said to himself before dialling her number

... Claudia is his girlfriend, a Mexican who's based in America, he met her two years ago when he visited America

She picked at the first ring

"Hey baby" Claudia said

"Don't baby me Claudia, why did you do that to the girl, it was a mistake she made"

" It's really a mistake adding you to the school group, you keep nagging, all I did was teach a rude girl a lesson" Claudia replied with a voice lacking pity

"Claudia you can't keep up with this behavior...

He's so engrossed with his conversation so much that he isn't concentrating on the road

Sophia on the other hand is crying and isn't even looking at where she's going, she just knows she's going home

They bumped into each other and Dan's phone flew away from his hand , Sophia is falling

"Fuck!" Dan thought and his subconscious told him to pick the phone instead of the falling girl

He caught his phone and Sophia fell, hurting her knee

"Ouch!" She whimpered in pains

"You should have concentrated on...

Dan was cut short when he saw it's Sophia

"You!" They both chorused

She tried to stand but the knee is really hurting

" You can't stand?" Dan asked

"I don't know" she replied, trying to stand again, it's successful but she fell again

Dan closed his eyes and opened it again in frustration before bending in front of her

"Get on my back" he said

"Y... You... Your back?" Sophia stuttered, not believing her ears

"your knee should be treated" he replied, still bending

Sophia smiled discreetly before getting on his back

He stood up and head to the nearest hospital with Sophia on his back

"You live in this street?" She asked

"No" he lied

"Then why are you here by this time of the..

"Don't ask much questions" he interrupted

He kept shifting her on his back, she's somehow weighty

"How many times do you eat a day?" He said

"Me?" She asked

" Never mind" he replied

"What's that?, Sophia and Dan?" Lucky wondered as he saw them from the other side of the road

He smirked and quickly took a clear picture

"Let's see how it goes" he thought

Dan got to the hospital and an intern attended to her, her knee was treated so it won't scar

They came out and Sophia faced him

"Thanks for this, goodnight" she said and turned to go

"You're walking home with a knee that has just been treated?" Dan asked

She looked back

" My house is not far from here, I can manage" she replied

" It doesn't matter, get in the cab" he replied, stopping a cab

" Ok" she replied, opening the cab door

He payed the cab man

"you had tears in your eyes when we bumped the other time, you shouldn't go around the street with a tearful face like that again, it doesn't suit you, cheer up" Dan said and walked away

Sophia smiled before entering the cab that took her home..

Dan entered the bathroom immediately he got home, he took a cold shower and came out shortly

His mind drifted to Claudia again

"She's becoming a great bully and that's becoming a bother" he thought

He picked his phone and that reminded him of Sophia

" Why was she crying?, Oh, she was humiliated in class..I get it" he thought and layed on the bed

He can't seem to get her off his head

Lucky peeped in

" Yes?" Dan said with a questioning look

"Brace up for tomorrow, the class group will receive shock" Lucky said and smirked before leaving

" That jerk" Dan thought

He dialled Claudia's number

Next morning

Dan got to school and met everyone in class already

Jenny rolled eyes at him and he smiled at that

Cute sister!

Lucky glared at him but he doesn't care

He took his sit beside Sophia

His eyes shifted to her knee

It's still plastered

"How is it?" He asked

"Getting better, and thanks once again" she replied, smiling

She remembered his book and brought it out of her bag

" Here" she said, giving it to him

Almost immediately, students Started murmuring and everyone checked their phones

"Hey Sophia!, What's this" Cynthia said, showing the post to her on her phone

Dan saw it too

It's a picture of how he gave her a piggyback ride last night with the hashtag.."new couple, brilliant and dull"

"Aren't you ashamed?, You don't even know anything but yet you're trying to steal our class Prince" Monica said

Dan rushed out of the class

" Dan" Sophia Called, running after him

"Cool!" Lucky remarked

Jenny looks confused

Dan ran to the rooftop immediately and Sophia went after him

"Dan wait!"

Dan faced her

"What!" He asked somewhat harshly

Sophia stopped dead on her tracks

"I'm sorry, I caused all these" she said guiltily

"of course you caused it, I wish you hadn't bumped into me, all this wouldn't be happening, now everyone is misunderstanding, must you implicate me with your clumsiness?, Fuck it!" Dan ranted

Sophia is about to start crying

"Isn't it enough that I'm made to sit with a dullard?, And now I have to be misunderstood with a dullard again" He said, slip of tongue though, he regretted it immediately

Sophia's tears fell

She stepped back and finally ran down the rooftop

"What did I just say?, Damn it!"
