Mia’s eyes widened as she sat back in her seat and Amelia pursed her lips and eyed Ember critically.

“Why do you ask?” Amelia murmured.

Ember shrugged. “It’s just a feeling I get,” she said. “Sara has a lot to do with his family and she brought over all these pre-prepped meals for him and…I think I’m stepping on her toes.”

Amelia and Mia shared a look before Amelia spoke. “They’ve never been together, not like that. They are close, though. Sara helped him through a rough patch after his mum died.”
