Ember POV

Ember felt full to bursting. The sun shone brighter, the breeze smelled sweeter, and the birds sang chirpier…she didn’t know if that was a word, but it fit the situation. Everything just felt like more, as if the entire world had a saturation filter applied. Colours were more vibrant and sounds were clearer, and…and everything was just better.

Lyrics rolled through her brain, accompanied by melodies, and for the first time since coming to Hope Springs, Ember felt like Abigail had come back to her……but Abigail felt different. Maybe it wasn’t Abigail at all, and yes, Ember knew just how neurotic that sounded.
