~the party~
**
The fact that I had to go against my parent one rule by sneaking out of the house just so I could attend this party only prove how reckless am determined to be tonight and it doesn't even come close to the part where I had to walk a few blocks under this freezing weather either.
I had to go meet up with Kara at a safe distance away from my parent house. And to think that this whole walking of a thing was my freaking idea was an understatement.
I kept rubbing at my exposed arms in a bid to create some warmth around my body. My hands feels numb and I was starting to go pale on the face as I continued to drag myself along.
The weather was pretty harsh tonight as it kept blowing bitterly at me.
My knees were all wobbly against the ground with goosebumps trailing all over my body.
I truly wished I had wore something much more warmer and less revealing but Kara said, I needed to look the party part so here I am dressed in this dark skinny jean and a white crop top that barely covers my belly button.
The crop top matches perfectly with my white Nike sneakers. Maybe that's why I had to go with it not minding the freezing weather outside.
I walked up to Kara waiting by the car. Her face was looking just as pale and close to shivering. She pushed herself off the car when she saw me approaching.
"Oh my God Ava. I thought you were going to make me wait all night out here in this freaking cold"
"Well, it wasn't exactly easy climbing out of the window you know?" I stated coldly with a frown, recalling how I almost landed on the shrub earlier.
Kara eyes took in my outfit momentarily before a smile broke out on her face. "You look freezing amazing"
I took a quick look at myself and gave her a smug grin. "You look freezing stunning yourself"
We both chuckled at our own jokes before she pulled at my hand and we got into her car and after she turned on the heat, I was finally able to feel my hands.
Peesssh!
The party was at 5th avenue. Just thirty minutes drive from our house. The place was already swimming with kids when we arrived at the venue.
Majority of whom were seniors and sophomores while most of us were just tagging along, looking lost and uninvited.
I was able to recognized some of the faces because we had classes together earlier while some were just piece of puzzle I couldn't put together.
Kara and I began to push through the crowd at the entrance, making our way into the house.
Loud music was blasting and pumping out from two speakers seating by the corner and close to the DJ booth
The living room was even more crowded than the entrance as the party was pretty much suited around the living room given how cold it was outside.
We ran into a boy that was meeting and greeting all the guest and I figured he was the host and the same one that had invited Kara.
He introduced himself as Cooper when his eyes landed on me. He is a senior with bright smile and golden locks for hair.
"Hey Kara. Am glad you could make it" he turned to Kara with a warm smile.
"Oh we couldn't miss it for anything in the world" Kara had snickered back with a giggle.
"Shall we get wasted?" Cooper had asked and I cringed at the idea.
Kara shot me a quick sideways glance and then back at him. "Is that even a question?"
"I think I will pass out on that one" I answered quickly, backing out before they got any ideas that I was cool with getting wasted because I am totally not doing that tonight.
"Alright fine. Suit yourself Ava because this girl right here is about to go have some fun" Kara had announced feeling all hyper before rushing off with Cooper to where some seniors were playing beer pong.
I just stood there with wide eyes. Can't believe I just got ditched by my best friend over some beer and stupid alcohol.
Well, that's life. We can't always be on someone's top priority list even if they care a great deal about us. We can either learn to deal with it or get over it.
After another minute of just awkwardly standing there in a corner. I began to make my way to an empty cushion at the other end of the hall, trying not to bump into anyone in particular.
I wonder if Carlos and his friends are here somewhere.
Maybe I'd be lucky to have someone to hang with rather than just seating by the corner like a lost puppy.
I was just seating by the corner the whole time watching as everything unfold before me.
Drunk girls were grinding up on boys and getting lost in the music. Kara on the other hand seemed to be having the time of her life on that table. She was held upside down by some seniors while she gulped down beer like a fucking pro.
I shook my head slightly, feeling disgusted by the sight alone. I turned towards the entrance and my eyes landed on the jerk from earlier in the hallway.
Logan and his friends had just walked into the party and everyone just seemed to notice. With every single head turning at their direction.
I thought I was totally invincible until pretty eyes turned and stared at my direction causing me to shrink further into the cushion in panic.
Did he recognized me or he was looking at someone behind me.
I bet it was the later . it couldn't be me right?
Wrong! Because I noticed a shadow standing in front of me and I looked up to stare back at the same eyes staring at me with a smirk on his face.
"Well, well and well. Look who we have here"
I practically rolled my eyes at his exaggeration and said nothing to reply him. I mean, why is he acting surprise to see me at a place like this.
Pessssh!
When I just looked the other way and ignoring his presence completely, he took another inch closer to my face and stopped. His eyes moved around for a bit as if he was looking for someone before settling back on me.
"Where is your little boyfriend princess. Don't tell me he left you here all by yourself in a room filled with hungry teenagers" He snickered and I gave a loud snort.
"Carlos is not my boyfriend and am not alone so how about you go back to your friends and leave me alone"
My eyes narrowed in on the red hair barbie in their group giving me the dead glare. The last thing I needed was some bitch assuming am somehow into their boyfriend when it's pretty obvious who is bothering who.
Logan seemed to get my point and glance behind him momentarily before turning to me.
"Don't worry about Gia. She can be overprotective at times but she mean no harm"
I replied with a careless shrug.
"Well, you can hang out with us and see for yourself. That's if your boyfriend won't mind of course"
"I already told you, he is not my boyfriend and I really don't need to hang out with your group to know who likes me and who doesn't. Am totally cool on my own"
"Well, he seemed to be laying claims on you the last time I checked so it's not my fault if I think you two are currently exchanging saliva behind closed doors"
I practically cringed at this statement.
Logan is such a creep and for a second there, I thought we could have proper conversation until he has to open his big mouth and said those last comment.
"You know what? Whether he is my boyfriend or not, it's really none of your goddamn business".
I shoved him aside and took off running before he could say another word hoping to find Kara and maybe drag her to take me home as well.
It's not even up to an hour since we got here and I already want to leave.
