Emilia splashed into the lake with a surprised gasp, water rising in every direction around her. She emerged with her dark hair plastered against her face, blinking and wiping water from her eyes. Squinting through the droplets, she spotted Raymond standing a few feet away on the bank, laughing uncontrollably.

"Why did you do that?” she sputtered, half laughing herself.

Raymond shrugged, grinning from ear to ear. "Oh, come on, Emilia! Don’t you remember this lake? We used to come here all the time as kids."

She tilted her head, trying to recall. Memories of long-forgotten summer days danced just out of reach, and she felt a pang of nostalgia....
