Chapter 2

Harris meets Sandra, Oupps! Ain't her

“So, will you shake my hand or keep me hanging, Mr Carter?” For a moment, he was mesmerized by her beauty but he quickly realized he was probably looking very silly. Slowly, he took her hand and kissed it. He stood up, went to her side of the table and pulled out a chair, like a gentleman, and she sat on it.

She put her phone on the table just by his, for Sammy to copy his password and QR code to access his apartments. However, this was just the phase-one of a long revenge plan.

“What are you staring at, or you have never seen a beautiful lady before?” She was so bold that he couldn't help but smirk, a very brief one though. For the first time, he had a false first impression about someone. When he saw her, she looked so soft that he thought she was going to be a shy type.

“You don’t make my eyes shine, young lady, but I must admit that you’re intriguing me though,” he said recklessly. “What’s the difference?” she glared at him with a slight confusion asking herself if his statement was really necessary. “Why don’t we talk about more interesting things?” He ignored her question.

“Oh, so I'm not interesting enough for you?” She pouted.

“Not really!” he sneered. She frowned. “Great then, no need to waste my time here, then.” She pulled back the chair without using her hands in the process and stood to leave.

He smirked as he watched her move away. She looked young and very bold. As she left, she didn’t even turn nor wink back.

“Interesting!” He murmured to himself with a nasty grin on his face as he added.

‘I know her type, always playing hard to get but I bet it won't take me up to a week to lay her in my bed. Trust me, baby, I will fuck you harder for the stress you will put me through!’, he thought, since saying this kind of the thing in a public place wouldn't sound very… charming.

“Aliya, what are you doing? Why are you living? The download isn't completed!” Sammy wondered aloud. She could hear him from the wireless earphone, she had in her left ear. “Chill, Sam, I know what I'm doing.” She whispered back.

‘I hope it works!’, she was whimpering deep within herself…

“I’m sure I’m not thinking what I’m thinking, — I’m not going to go after her!” he said to himself as he remained seated and tapped his legs on the ground, thoughtfully.

Suddenly, a lady walked up to him eagerly smiling. “Hello, Harris. You must have been waiting for too long? Seriously, I don’t know what happened to my alarm, then the electricity went, oh my gosh, it was horrible...” She spoke non-stop then she glared at him asking. “So will you ask me to sit or not?” She frowned then she smiled “It's fine, I will sit anyway!”

Harris glared at her with shock.

“Who the hell are you? Miss you must have surely missed your table. Excuse me, I have a business to attend to.” He said as he immediately stood up and stormed off. “Like seriously?” Sandra exclaimed with shock as he snubbed her and left. “To think that I canceled all my programs for this evening just to come and see this jerk…” she pouted. “Waiter!” she called and ordered because since she was already there, she was not going to waste the trip.

“Why did you leave, Liya? That was not our plan and this was our only chance!” Sam cried as Aliya was already out of the restaurant.

“Don’t worry, he’s soon going to come running after me like a dog. Just stay where you are. ]Watch and learn. ” She said confidently then she added, “No man can resist my charms.” she smiled.

“I can't wait to see that, hahaha… So you truly thought that the most wanted bachelor in this country would come after you?” Sam taunted. “Yes of course, why wouldn’t he?” Aliya stood by the roadside waving at occupied taxis passing but ignored the unoccupied ones.

“Liya, not to offend you but that dude can have all the ladies he wants so why would he waste his time running after you? It's over we messed up, — I mean you mess up. Come back in the van and let's go home, it's cold outside.” Nate said, backing up Sammy's point.

“Hell, no!” She yelled. Just then, her ‘prey’ came outside.

“Hey, Sandra!” He said while moving towards her. She said nothing as she pretended to be stopping a cab. “I told you, guys!” she happily murmured to her friends. “Hey, I thought you would be gone by now.” “And I thought you weren't going to follow me,” She furiously glared at him.

“Geez! Why don’t we take a walk and start everything over, huh?” he suggested. She hesitated, but finally accepted. He extended his hand. “Harris Carter”. She smiled. “Sandra.” She retorted, looking straight into his eyes.

They walked for a couple of minutes then Sandra (Aliya) insisted to stop by the fast food Van and she happily ordered burgers and fries, with sausage. “I’m sorry, you are surely not used to this kind of food but trust me you will like it,” She said.

“You don’t know me so stop assuming things. You will be shocked to know all the things I have done.” He seriously glared. She was about to retort but just then his phone rang and her heart started pounding.

“Shit!” he frowned. “Just a sec.” He excused himself as he took a few steps away from her to answer his call. Fear had taken control of her body, perhaps they were calling to report an infiltration in his database and/or apartment.

He glared at her furiously and he answered the phone call.

“What! How on earth could that happen?” He yelled before dropping the call and moving back to her. “What did you say your name was, again?” He asked. She glared at him reluctantly with her trembling. “Oh, my bad, Sandra, right?” he barely grinned.

“Yeah!” she nodded her head.

“Ok, Sandra, something very important just came up and I need to leave. Will you excuse me?” He asked as he was about to leave but she clutched his wrist softly. “Please, hold on. What happened?” She curiously asked. It could be about her!

“It's private!” he coldly said. “So where is your car parked?” he glared at her impatiently. She scratched the back of her head as everything got heated for her. “Oh, my car, — I didn't bring it. Erm, I left it home… Haha, I didn't want to drive today. Remember… I was trying to get a cab…?” She lied shamelessly.

“Hmmm…” he grumbled. He ordered an Uber as they moved back to the restaurant. By the time they arrived at the front of the restaurant, the cab was already there waiting for them. “See you, soon!” he said as he helped her into the cab he ordered. He locked the door. The car took off while his car was brought to the front of the restaurant. He got in and drove off immediately.

“Car, turn back!” Aliya said to the driver and his eyes widened in which he hesitated. “Ma’am but, he…” He tried to speak but she shut him up immediately. “Take me back, right now!” She yelled and the driver didn’t try to argue anymore.
