What next? Sammy gets a surprise
She frowned, thinking that was pretty weird, but even so, she turned around to see who it was. “Oh, it's you… it's you again. I’m so sorry about last time.” he said while running alongside her and she acted all surprised to have fallen on that particular road meanwhile she had it all planned. She knew it was his jogging spot. “What a coincidence, what are you doing here Mr Ha..” She made a face as if trying to remember his name.
“Harris!” He answered, smiling in the discomfort. She widened her eyes and snapped her fingers. He felt wounded because no woman had ever forgotten his name. He was known all over the country as the sexiest and most wanted bachelor. Then he continued. “I should instead ask you that question, everyone knows this is my spot.” He bragged.
“And who is everyone? Because I didn’t know that. And I am certainly someone.” She answered with a defiant smile. He smiled back at her. “You got me there,” he said. He was so excited to see her again, but still, he kept his cool and something was telling him that it wasn't a mere coincidence. So he used the opportunity to ask her for her number under the pretext that he wanted to repay her for leaving her the way he did the last time. Aliya smiled but kept it subtle and told him she would hold him to his promise. With that said she put on her earpieces and walked out of him as she continued jogging covering a long distance before returning home.
“Sammy is a genius. I met him at the exact time and place. Now all I need to do is to wait for his call!” she smiled maliciously. She was just returning from her run. “Oh, Wow! That's great but we have a problem here. I don’t know how it happened, but someone just sent me a message asking for money and said if I fail to deliver, our secret is going to be revealed publicly” Nate said.
“We have always been careful with things. What’s going on now? We have to think about it first, we can't just send money like that!” Aliya was restless and worried. Just when she got close to Harris! At that moment, the door opened and Sammy walked in. “I don’t know, but school gets better every day. I’m thinking of staying.” he said and Aliya looked at him and laughed, retorting. “I thought you were only going for a period of trial.
I'm pretty sure it's because of a girl. That's what is making you change your mind so easily.” She tried to guess, but he immediately rejected what Aliya said. Instead, he spoke about his fear. He feared that one day he might come back from school and not see her, like what happened to his parents and since that day he hadn't forgiven himself for leaving his parents and going to school. “I have to stay home and protect you. You’re all I got!” he said.
“Hey, kiddo! I'm the one to protect you so don't bother about me, I'm alright. I will always be here for you." She hugged, then released him and explained what Nate had just said. Sammy put his hand over his own chin, thoughtfully. “Maybe one of our victims tracked us!” he worried. “That can't be, we always wipe all our traces once we are done.” She rejected and that made them more worried because, who could it be? It was either an ex-victim or someone close to them. “If not them, then who? Because our cycle is limited to just us!” Aliya said, nervously. Then she added, “If he/she contacts us again, we will have to yield to the demands the person lays.
At least until we can track them.” They were all worried. Aliya looked around and asked. “Wait…Where is Dave?” Two days passed and Harris had neither texted or called her. “Maybe he's too proud to reach out first. Should I check on him at his jogging spot for another set-up?” She asked. “Nahh, he might get suspicious. The best thing is to wait until he reaches out” Nate said. “Yes, I agree!” Sammy confirmed but Aliya wasn’t okay with that. She was so eager to see him. Dave wasn’t okay with all that.
Sammy got up and went to his room. Just then, Aliya’s phone rang, she looked at the number thinking it was the blackmailer but then she smiled wholeheartedly, unable to help it. Luckily she quickly got back to her own self, getting back with no smile on. It was a private number so she had guessed who it was. “Who’s this?” she chided. “Stop acting, I know you have been waiting for my call, you know who it is.” He said in a subtle tone.
“Hmmm,” she grumbled softly. “So…o, I guess it’s you Mr H… Oh, I can never remember, I’m sorry!” she smiled and this made Dave sick of jealousy so he stood up and moved out. Aliya kept on talking as if nothing happened. “So what took you so long?” she asked and they went on discussing it with desire between them. He asked her on a date in a fancy restaurant and he proposed to pick her up. But she refused, saying she would go there by herself. He took it that she was playing the thought girl, meanwhile, she didn't want him to know where she was living. Immediately she hung up the call, and she shouted. “Yes!” Sam ran out topless to the living room. “What’s wrong?” he wondered aloud.
“Hey you missed, he just called and. He was all sweet, and guess what? I have a date tonight, Ta, da!” She exclaimed with excitement and they all looked at her with shock. They had never seen her this excited about meeting a dude, especially for a mission. “I need to dress up! With something sexy!” she said and Sammy shook his head. “You scared me for a moment, you know? I thought something wrong had happened. Hmmm, don't you think you are more excited than you should?” Sam asked and she glared at him. “Huh?” she asked.
“I'm just asking because you have to be focused,” he added and she picked up a pillow from the couch and hit him with it. “See who is giving me lessons, now!” she smiled at him sweetly and said. “Of course, I know what I'm doing. Things are beginning to happen and I won't mess this up for anything in the world,” she said. He just took a deep breath. “Okay, I trust you, then.” he said and left.
