I could feel the days running out, and the tension was becoming unbearable. Every day, I pictured the look on her face when I finally told her the truth. But when I stood up and saw her standing in the doorway, her expression was worse than I imagined. It wasn't disgust or hate, it was pure, shattered confusion.
