Chapter fourteen

Louis was furious. I could feel him quietly stewing all through the dinner. But I ignored him and focused on Xavier’s jokes. I laughed so much I was sure I cracked something in my stomach and by the end of the night I found it was easier to not think about Louis at all.

I thanked Xavier for a lovely evening and he gave me a hug. Then Melissa ambushed me and pulled me away.
