He reached his parents’ bedroom door and didn’t hesitate, didn’t even knock. He threw the door open and barged in, his voice a furious roar as he confronted his father.
“Do something!” he shouted, his hands clenched into fists at his sides. “You have to do something, Dad! Get Angela out! She didn’t do anything wrong, and you’re just sitting here, letting them take her away!”
His father looked up from where he sat at the edge of the bed, his expression stubborn and with a hint of exhaustion. But Lincoln didn’t care. He was too angry, too desperate to care.
