A knock came on my door the next morning and it was pushed open before I even talked. It was Mom. 

“I’m going to see your father. I totally forgot that today is a general visiting day.” She rasped. 

“Oh,” I mumbled. 

“Yes. Aren’t you going with me?”

I shook my head, “No, I’ll pass. Maybe the next time you’re going.” 

She shrugged, “We’d be more prepared by then, I guess. Anyways, I’m off now. Have fun!” She yelled, running out already.
